Hello! I'm Maggie
Welcome to maggieengland.com! Dancing, acting, and preforming are more than hobbies to me, they are my entire world. When I am engaged in them, my heart and soul feel full, offering a sense of belonging, a place of comfort. They are my joy, my strength, and my voice. They take me to magical places where I feel free, confident, and whole. I am reminded I can overcome anything and inspire others to do the same. While performing I can be "in the moment", to let go of society’s pressures. I trust in my own imagination and impulses.
I discovered my passion for performing in first grade, when I entertained my family at my grandparents' house. Their encouragement made me feel like I was on a real stage, inspiring me to pursue dance more seriously.
My dance journey began in 2001 and quickly became my true passion, inspiring personal growth, and transformation. Performing allows me to connect deeply with myself and others, offering a positive outlet for self-expression and a way to let go of anxiety. Dance recitals have further developed both my skills as a performer and my character.
During my childhood, I encountered challenges in school, including unkind remarks related to my learning disabilities. Although these experiences were difficult, dance allowed me to overcome adversity by fostering a sense of strength and confidence. Additionally, my older siblings consistently supported and advocated for me, providing the encouragement necessary to persevere.
Dancing, music, and playing the piano continue to fill me with a sense of ease and peace they help me cope with challenges and give me a voice when words are not enough Dance, music and playing the piano shape who I am and motivate me to inspire others.
I am especially inspired to be my best for others who face similar challenges to mine and share my passion for dance, acting, and music. I want to be a positive example for others with disabilities; show them their challenges do not define their limits. I also hope to have an influence on the life of my seven-year-old nephew Elliot, who has autism by encouraging him to find his own passions and strengths.
I am grateful for the many choreographers, mentors, and close friends who motivate me and support my growth and success. To continue to still learn and strive to be the best I can be and for being a lifelong learner. Learning is a passion of mine as well. Learning helps me grow as a person as well as a performer.
